What is NBI Clearance?
According to the Republic Act No. 157., The main objective of the National Bureau of Investigation is the establishment and maintenance of a moderm, effective and efficient investigative service and research for the purpose of implementing fully principal functions.
Means the NBI Clearance is one of the mandatory identification requirements here in the Philippines. Your NBI Clearance is important because it will act as your proof and assurance that you are cleared to any criminal liabilities. And this is also one of the major requirements in securing employment purposes for local and overseas, nor getting permit to carry firearms and even planning to travel abroad.
Here’s the Step by Step how I get mine.
Application Form/ Data Checking
I went inside to the NBI Office and ask Manong who is sitting in the table about the process in getting an NBI Clearance and handed me an NBI Application Form. This Application Form is to be fill-up in a "BLANK INK PEN" and in written in a "CAPITAL LETTER". Application Form includes all your personal data.
After I filled out my application form, I handed my papers to Manong to check if I answered all or fill up all the information needed. One thing more is make sure that you accurately fill out everything or else it will returned to you. And present any 2 of your Valid Id’s along with your application form.
List of Valid Id’s that you can bring:
Company ID
School ID
Voter’s ID
Postal ID
Driver’s License
P.R.C License
Valid Passport
GSIS e-Card
SSS ID
TIN ID
PhilHealth ID
Alien Certificate of Registration
Senior Citizen ID
Payment Counter: The Data Checking was very quick for me! Thanks to Manong and guided me to my Next line is, to pay for my NBI Clearance. Before paying for your clearance you have to be mindful and be aware about the fees to be collected because it also varies on the purposes of your application.
I submitted to the Payment Counter my Application Form and my payment for my NBI Clearance for a local employment purposes which cost about 115 pesos. Get your OR receipts because this important in claiming your NBI Clearance.
Data Entry/Encoding:
All the information on your Application Form that you submitted will be encoded directly into their Data System. The NBI Personnel will encoded every details and check any encoding error that you have disclosed in your form application. To prevent any complains or avoiding repayment against the mistakes on your application make sure to write more legibly and easy to understand.
Picture taking/Biometric
Your image or a picture will be taken and finger printing. You will be assisted an NBI Personnel in placing your ten fingers on the scanner! tadaaah! And your name will be search on their data system to determine if you have a HIT means that there is something or have a derogatory record or namesake same name as yours that needs for further verification and returned after 5 working Days. If you don't have a HIT on your name you will get your clearance immediately.
After a very long and tiring day for me finally I've got my NBI Clearance in just less than 30 minutes. Yes its true.! I am not kidding! I guess that was my lucky day that I didn't need to endure to wait any longer.
